UCI Cycling World Championship
You can donate now through September 30 for a chance to win bikes made for Kate Courtney, Marianne Vos, and more.
In celebration of the 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships in Glasgow, Scotland, World Bicycle Relief (WBR), the official global charity partner of the event, is offering cycling fans around the world the opportunity to win one of four bikes donated by some of the top names in the sport.
While female athletes are breaking boundaries at the sharp end of the sport and gaining the recognition they deserve, WBR prioritizes women in the countries it serves—offering 70 percent of the bikes it distributes through its programs to women and girls. Proceeds from the raffle will support WBR’s work in helping women and girls with limited access to transportation realize their goals.
“Women and girls in many rural communities around the world rely on bicycles to access vital services and education—particularly when walking and sharing lifts are not safe options,” said Claire Geiger, director of global partnerships for WBR, in a news release.
Since 2005, WBR, in partnership with local communities, has distributed more than 740,000 bicycles and trained more than 3,000 bicycle mechanics across 21 countries in Africa, Southeast Asia, and South America. Fundraising and donations will help the charity to reach its goal of distributing 1 million bicycles by 2025.
You can donate now through September 30 for a chance to win. (The minimum donation is €10.) Raffle winners will have the chance to take home one of four bikes set up to the sponsorship specifications of cycling legends from the worlds of road racing and mountain biking:
