On Sunday, August 6, the team at Residence Hotel and 1520 will take part in an important Spin Bike Challenge to raise awareness and funds for crucial youth mental health charity Jigsaw.
The team will be challenging themselves to cycle a combined 1,520 minutes during this Spin Bike Challenge outside the 1520 premises on Quay Street – and passers-by will have the chance to support the cause and cheer them on.
Jigsaw is a mental health charity that was set up to support young people, aged 12 to 25, and they do a lot of great work understanding the needs of this key demographic.
Speaking ahead of the Spin Bike Challenge, Fundraising Manager at Jigsaw, Justin McDermott said:
“Aiming to cycle 1,520 minutes on the Sunday of Race Week in Galway is an epic challenge, but we have no doubt they will smash it,” he said,
“Most importantly, we simply cannot provide the services and supports that our young people in Galway need or deserve without support like this. So please support the Bar 1520 and Residence Hotel crew on the day as much as you can,” Justin added.
Jigsaw are advocates of an early-intervention approach when it comes to mental health, and they regularly provide both in-person and online advice on how best to support young people. The team at Residence Hotel and 1520 are delighted to play their part in supporting this worthy cause, and they would appreciate the public’s support on the day.
Residence Hotel offers pop-art style rooms and a convenient location close to lots of landmark attractions, ideal for those looking to experience the colourand character of Galway. 1520 offers fantastic chef-crafted food, from breakfast favourites to delicious tapas – and they also have live music seven nights a week.
The Spin Bike Challenge will take place on Sunday, August 6 just outside 1520 on Quay Street. Everyone is welcome to donate at https://www.idonate.ie/fundraiser/residence-1520-jigsaw
